Exelon Plans Nuclear Plant For Texas

19 December 2007 12:04

The largest operator of nuclear power plants in the US, Exelon Nuclear, has selected an 11,500-acre site in southeast Texas as the location for a new nuclear plant.

The company plans to apply for a license from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission in September 2008 to build and operate a plant in Victoria County, Texas.

Exelon is not expected to make a final decision on the plant's construction until 2009.
