Switchgrass Study Comes Out Clean

An Australian crop used to make ethanol is more cost effective and greener than alternative biofuels, a study claims.

Switchgrass has been hailed as a better feedstock than popular biofuel ingredient corn, in a study published by US publication Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

PNAS, part of the US National Academy of Sciences, has found average greenhouse gas emissions from cellulosic ethanol derived from switchgrass were 94 percent lower than gasoline.
