Turkey to Build Gas Power Plant

Swiss company EGL plans to build a gas power plant in Turkey, Energy Minister Hilmi Guler has announced.

The country is also assessing the construction of a new natural gas pipeline that would pass through Albania and Italy, the minister told Reuters.

Turkey is also due to hold auctions for the construction and operation of three separate nuclear power stations with a total capacity of 5,000MW by May, with construction expected to begin this year.
