Canada Announces Largest Carbon Recapture Project

29 February 2008 15:53

Canada will refit a coal-fired power plant in the country's largest carbon capture project.

Work on the C$1.4bn refit of the Boundary Dam power plant in Saskatchewan will begin in 2011.

It is expected to be complete in 2015.

The federal government has committed C$240m to the project, which will cut carbon dioxide emissions by one megatonne per year.

Boundary Dam is operated by government-owned utility SaskPower.
