E.ON, Areva and Siemens have teamed up to build the UK's new generation of nuclear power stations, it was announced today.
As part of a letter of intent signed by the three companies, energy giant E.ON says it will develop Areva's existing advanced pressure water and boiling water reactor technology to ensure maximum security and safety for the use of nuclear power.
E.ON and Areva are also partnering to service and maintain existing and new nuclear power stations.
In January, the UK Government gave the go-ahead for a new generation of nuclear reactors across the country, ten of which are expected to be built by 2020.
