UK to Enter Indian Nuclear Energy Market

05 February 2010

The UK could supply nuclear energy equipment worth $150bn to the Indian market, if a new deal goes ahead.

India plans to expand its power generation from nuclear sources following the lifting of international sanctions barring the country from purchasing nuclear technology, according to The Times newspaper.

Recently, India signed a deal with Russia, under which Russia will build about 12 new reactors in the country. India has also agreed on a similar pact with the US.
