Aboitiz Power Corporation has announced its interest to acquire Chevron Corporation’s geothermal assets in Indonesia and the Philippines, which are estimated to be valued at approximately $3bn.

It joins several other interested companies, including PT Pertamina (Persero), Energy Development Corp, China Investment Corporation, and Malakoff Corporation Berhad. Formal terms have not yet been announced.

Marubeni Corporation have agreed to invest $2bn for the construction and development of Cirebon III power plant in collaboration with Korea Midland Power, Samtan, and PT. Indika Multi Energi Internasional.

The plant is in Cirebon in the West Java Province of Java Island, which is in the Republic of Indonesia.

The 1,000MW coal-fired power plant is expected to come online between 2021 and 2022.

Societe Generale has entered an exclusive mandate to serve as sole lead arranger and financial adviser toGenex Power in phase one debt financing of the 150MW Kidston solar power plant at Kindston mine site.

The project forms part of Kidston Power Project, which further integrates a 330 MW hydroelectric plant and a 185km transmission line to Powerlink’s high-voltage transmission network.

Goldwind Americas has reached an agreement to acquire the US Rattlesnake wind project in McCulloch County, Texas.

It will purchase the facility from Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES) after being granted a bridge loan from Goldwind Capital.

The 160MW project will be installed with 64 Goldwind 2.5 MW permanent magnet direct-Drive (PMDD) wind turbines. It will form the first phase of a larger 300MW wind project, which was developed and will be constructed under a balance of plant agreement by RES.
