Spanish company Gamesa has received orders for delivery of 198MW wind turbines to four farms in Karnataka, and signed deals for two construction projects in Rajasthan.

The company will deliver 50 G114 2MW Class S turbines to a windfarm in Karnataka, India, for the first of two contracts in the area. The second includes the supply of 12 G114 2MW turbines to another facility.

The first project is scheduled to be commissioned in March next year, while the second will be commissioned in the middle of this year.

In Rajasthan, a contract was signed for two windfarm construction projects. Of these, one has a capacity of 50MW, while the other has 24MW. Gamesa will provide 25 of its G97 2MW turbines at the first, and 12 of its G97 2MW Class S turbines for the second. They are expected to be commissioned by the end of this year.

The contracts were signed during the first quarter of this year under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) model. Under the contracts, Gamesa will also manage the entire infrastructure required to deploy and operate any new facilities.

The G114 2MW Class S and the G97 2MW Class S turbines were designed by Gamesa. The G114 2MW Class S turbines feature a tower height of 106m, while the G97 2MW Class S turbines feature a tower height of 104m.
