Wood Group wins Sime Darby Power maintenance contract

Wood Group GTS has won a $15m contract from Thailand's Sime Darby Power Company to provide maintenance services for two power stations in Laem Chabang, Thailand.

Under the terms of the ten-year contract, Wood Group GTS will supply new gas turbine parts, component repairs and field services for three GE Frame 6B units.

The company will also install its EcoValue power augmentation technology, which is designed to enhance gas turbine power output and improve heat rate.

Sime Darby managing director and executive vice president for energy and utilities, Dato' Ir Jauhari Hamidi, said: "Wood Group GTS' offering delivers significant benefits for our business by including their patented power augmentation solution along with a value driven approach to major maintenance services."

Wood Group GTS Power Plant Services president, Frank Avery, said: "This latest award strengthens our relationship with Sime Darby and we look forward to working closely with them, to enhance return on their investment in power generation assets."

Wood Group GTS has completed field service work and gas turbine combustion inspections for Sime Darby over the last eight years.
