In the last few years, the role of ancillary services (A/S) in assuring North American power system reliability has broadened significantly. The provision of regulation and other services used to be the exclusive domain of generators and other supply sources.
That bias has now been addressed in part through several FERC Orders and ISO/RTO measures to enable demand side and other variable energy resources (VERs) to now compete for providing all the ancillary services, including regulation and spinning reserves, in several regions.
This conference will inform attendees through specific updates on how ISO/RTO markets and independent balancing areas in North America are addressing ancillary services. In addition, it will consider how policy drivers influence ancillary services functions. For those in the SPP and ERCOT markets, it will offer valuable tools for market participants to understand how the markets are addressing this very important component of ensuring grid stability. For those in the eastern and western markets, it will offer guidance on squeezing the most out of A/S market options.
Energy Exemplar has been invited to participate as the official VIP Sponsor for the 2013 EUCI conference on Ancillary Services & Market Dynamics. Take the opportunity to meet personally with our new Regional Director for the East Coast, Dr Randell Johnson and hear his presentation on ‘Ancillary Services and the Key Functions to Success Using PLEXOS for Power Systems’.
Experience first-hand the cutting-edge software that is leading the field in Power Market Modelling, PLEXOS for Power Systems and build your knowledge on the PLEXOS modelling features and application areas including electricity and natural gas market simulation, interregional planning, deterministic and stochastic optimisation, transmission benefits analysis, capacity expansion planning, LMP forecasts, Integrated resource planning and much more.
Plus, don’t forget to enjoy the free promotional giveaways of PLEXOS and Energy Exemplar and ask about our consulting services and the availability of our new commercial datasets for modelling from across the globe.
Please contact us if you wish to set up a meeting and demonstration during these days.
