The Gas Turbine Services division (“GTS”) of international energy services company, John Wood Group (“Wood Group”), has signed an alliance agreement with Serba Dinamik (“Serba”), a Malaysian engineering firm specializing in the maintenance of gas turbines. The execution of this agreement will allow Wood Group and Serba to jointly bid for gas turbine maintenance contracts in the Malaysian oil and gas sector.

Wood Group and Serba have a history of solid performance together and have come to realize the synergies that would be established with such an alliance. While Wood Group has an international reputation in the oil and gas sector, Serba has an established presence in the Malaysian market, with access to local engineering resources and labour. This alliance will expand the capabilities of both parties and will enable them to reach out to new customers through a local company, backed by the experience of a leading independent provider of gas turbine services.

“Serba Dinamik is happy to be linked with Wood Group. We have worked together for many years and are excited about the future. This agreement allows us to provide a qualified option for gas turbine maintenance to Malaysian companies,” states Ir Abdul Karim, group managing director of Serba
Dinamik.

Larry DePompei, vice president of sales for Wood Group contractual solutions, stated: “Both Wood Group and Serba are looking forward to benefiting from this agreement. Together, our two companies can now offer a stronger alternative to the OEM in the Malaysian market.”

The first success of this alliance has been the recent signing of the short term service agreement with a national oil company in the Asia Pacific region, demonstrating the alliance’s ability to provide exceptional customer solutions for gas turbine maintenance services.
