Structural Vibration Solutions has announced that it will hold a two-day user training course in Aalborg, Denmark.

The course will take place at Comwell Hotel Hvide Huson on October 29-30.  The event is created for the new and experienced users, who are interested in the Operational Modal Analysis, Experimental Modal Analysis and latest features of ARTeMIS Modal software.

On the first day of the course, the participants will attend a comprehensive introduction to Experimental Modal Analysis (EMA) and Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) in general.

During the introduction, the differences and similarities between EMA and OMA will be explained. Also, the procedures for acquiring high-quality measurements will be discussed in detail.

The participants and organisers will be able to work together on acquiring the correct measurements of different demo structures for EMA and OMA applications.

Then, the visitors will attend a presentation of the user-friendly frequency domain decomposition (FDD) technique and we will analyse the acquired measurements, as part of the practical exercise.

Finally, the participants will be introduced to enhanced frequency domain decomposition and curve-fit frequency domain decomposition, which are two other ARTeMIS FDD-related techniques. The visitors will be able to apply new techniques during practical exercises.

The technical programme will end with the analysis of the acquired EMA data, using the Complex Mode Indicator Function – Peak Picking method (CMIF).

The first day will end at a restaurant in the old downtown of Aalborg.

During the second day, the participants will be introduced to the advanced OMA method Stochastic Subspace Identification (SSI) and the parametric EMA method Rational Fraction Polynomial in Z-domain (RFP-Z), as well as the latest ARTeMIS features, including the Structural Health Monitoring plug-ins.

As part of the course, the participants will receive course materials and a one-month free demo version of the ARTeMIS Modal Pro that the users will be able to install on their laptop and use during the practical course exercises.

Both days will start at 9 am and end at 5 pm. There will be lunch and coffee breaks during the day and free WiFi internet access. Structural Vibration Solutions CEO Dr Palle Andersen is the course instructor.
