METKA EGN has signed a contract with Talasol Solar SLU, a subsidiary of Ellomay Capital Ltd, to carry out a large-scale solar power plant project. The plant has an installed capacity of 300MWp in the municipality of Talaván, Cáceres, Spain (the ‘Talasol Project’).

The signing of the agreement took place on 18 June at MYTILINEOS’s headquarters in Athens, Greece.

The scope includes the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the Talasol Project and the ancillary facilities for injecting power into the grid, including a 400kV step-up substation, the high-voltage interconnection line to the point of connection to the grid and performance of two years of operation and maintenance (O&M) services. The contract value is just below €200Mio.

The selection of METKA EGN for this project consolidates the company’s position as an international leader in providing competitive EPC solutions for the global solar industry.

Mr Evangelos Mytilineos, Chairman and CEO of MYTILINEOS stated: “We appreciate the confidence placed in us by Ellomay.

“This project is a landmark in terms of competitive, subsidy-free solar power in Europe, and we look forward to successfully completing it on time and certainly on budget.

“We are committed to further expand our activity in this growing market, both in terms of supporting major global clients with competitive EPC solutions, but also building up our own project development and investment activity in the sector.”
