Wood Group Light Industrial Turbines (WGLIT), part of the Gas Turbine Services Division of international energy services company, John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group"), has appointed David McKendrick as General Manager/Sales Director for Asia Pacific, commencing 1st January 2006.

In his new role, David will be based in Singapore and have responsibility for developing and managing WGLIT’s activities, which cover the provision of maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Solar and Siemens gas turbines plus related rotating equipment, throughout the Asia Pacific region.

David has worked in the rotating equipment service industry since 1980, and his career at Wood Group spans more than 15 years, firstly at Sulzer Wood Ltd, and most recently at WGLIT’s Aberdeen, Scotland facility where he is currently Business Development Director.

Stuart Broadley, Managing Director & President of WGLIT’s global operations, said: "There is growing demand from customers in the Asia Pacific region to provide in-country support for their gas turbines and rotating equipment. David’s move will not only give us a much needed local presence in that region, it will also strengthen our global network of service resources which already spans Europe, the US, South America and the Middle East."
