Houston-based Wood Group Light Industrial Turbines (USA), Inc. ("WGLIT"), part of the Gas Turbine Services Division of international energy services company, John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group"), has strengthened its team with the addition of two highly experienced turbine industry professionals.

New Vice President & General Manager is Jon Elmendorf, who takes on responsibility for WGLIT's entire Houston-based operations. Jon brings more than 30 years turbine industry experience to the role, gained with Westinghouse, Sermatech, and most recently, managing the Light Industrial Turbine service activities of Alstom (now Siemens) in the Americas.

Also joining WGLIT is Bob Esker, who has been appointed Sales Manager for the US Northeast region. Bob previously managed the Siemens Light Industrial Turbine repair and overhaul facility in Syracuse, New York, and before that worked for Stewart & Stevenson in Houston. Bob has already made a significant contribution to WGLIT USA’s business within his first six weeks with the company. His efforts have resulted in the award by a leading Canadian energy company to WGLIT of a Siemens Tornado gas turbine overhaul. Bob has also secured a contract for WGLIT to supply a Siemens Typhoon gas turbine to a US client.

Bob said: "A lot of companies talk customer service, but few actually demonstrate true customer service. My experience has shown that Wood Group is recognized in the industry as a company that practices and delivers customer service and satisfaction, as evidenced by the two recent orders. That’s why I joined Wood Group and thus far I have not been disappointed."
