Wood Group GTS Awarded Over $4m of Maintenance Services on Steam Turbines

Wood Group GTS has completed two steam turbine inspections and received awards for three additional steam turbine outages from five US power plants. The cumulative $4.2m in services are scheduled to be completed in the first half of this year.

A steam turbine outage requires thorough component inspections, expedited repairs and a detailed project plan that incorporates the ability to replace damaged parts within the scheduled outage window. Wood Group GTS provides a single point of contact to manage the project, a core team of skilled technical specialists and inspectors, mobile tooling containers and the on-site consumable kits needed to meet customer expectations.

Wood Group’s Power Plant Services president Frank Avery said: "With a focus on the overall outage schedule, quality and cost management, we apply our core value of safety, our extensive years of experience and a full tooling and equipment package to complete maintenance events.

"As a leading provider of steam turbine outage services, our experienced field service team performs over three million hours a year of on-site maintenance for all major steam and gas turbines."

Wood Group GTS has completed more than 5,000 maintenance outages in the last five years, while maintaining an exceptional industry safety record.
