Field System Machining recently completed a machining project at a gold mine. FSM’s on-site machining crew worked six days per week, six weeks in a row, to machine a 125 RMS phonograph finish into twenty-plus autoclave covers and flanges of various sizes, each machined either parallel to earth upside right, or parallel to earth upside down. The job went smoothly and the three Field System Machining custom on-site portable boring bar machines and the one Field System Machining custom flange facing machine performed flawlessly. Spare tooling, controllers and gear reducers were brought, but never needed.
