Asia-Pacific electricity procurement contracts activity down 26% in Q3 2019

There were 42 electricity procurement contracts announced in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 2019, marking a drop of 26% over the last 12-month average of 57, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 2019 with 62 contracts and a 32.8% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 57 contracts and a 30.2% share and Electricity Procurement with 42 contracts and a 22.2% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Power Purchase Agreement: 33 contracts and a 78.6% share
  2. Electricity Supply: eight contracts and a 19% share
  3. Project Implementation: one contract and a 2.4% share.

Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific electricity procurement contracts in Q3 2019
