Asia-Pacific generation equipment contracts activity up 13% in Q1 2020

There were 76 generation equipment contracts announced in the Asia-Pacific region in Q1 2020, marking a rise of 13% over the last 12-month average of 67, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q1 2020 with 91 contracts and a 35.1% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 76 contracts and a 29.3% share and Electricity Procurement with 45 contracts and a 17.4% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 68 contracts and an 89.5% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 5.3% share
