Asia-Pacific hydro technology contracts in Q2 2021 saw 23 contracts announced, marking a drop of 15% over the last four-quarter average of 27, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of hydro technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection with 13 contracts and a 56.5% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: five contracts and a 21.7% share

Vietnam tops Asia-Pacific hydro power contracts activity

Vietnam was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for hydro technology contracts recorded in Q2 2021 with six contracts and a 26.1% share, followed by China with four contracts and a 17.4% share and India with four contracts and a 17.4% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
