Europe generation equipment contracts activity up 7% in April 2020

There were 31 generation equipment contracts announced in the Europe region in April 2020, marking a rise of 7% over the last 12-month average of 29, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in April 2020 with 192 contracts and a 75.9% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 31 contracts and a 12.3% share and T&D Equipment with ten contracts and a 4% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 29 contracts and a 93.5% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 3.2% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 3.2% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe generation equipment contracts in April 2020

Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for 19 contracts with a 61.3% share, followed by hydro with four contracts and a 12.9% share and solar with three contracts and a 9.7% share.
