Europe generation equipment contracts activity remain flat in August 2020

There were 35 generation equipment contracts announced in the Europe region in August 2020, marking a flat growth over the last 12-month average of 35, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in August 2020 with 109 contracts and a 53.4% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 35 contracts and a 17.2% share and T&D Equipment with 31 contracts and a 15.2% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 21 contracts and a 60% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 13 contracts and a 37.1% share
3. Project Implementation: one contract and a 2.9% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe generation equipment contracts in August 2020

Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for 17 contracts with a 48.6% share, followed by thermal with nine contracts and a 25.7% share and solar with six contracts and a 17.1% share.
