Europe smart grid contracts activity up 178% in October 2020

There were 25 smart grid contracts announced in the Europe region in October 2020, marking a rise of 178% over the last 12-month average of 9, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in October 2020 with 38 contracts and a 28.4% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 36 contracts and a 26.9% share and Smart Grid with 25 contracts and an 18.7% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 22 contracts and an 88% share
  2. Project Implementation: two contracts and an 8% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 4% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe smart grid contracts in October 2020

Looking at smart grid contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for one contract with a 100% share.
