There were 34 smart grid contracts announced in the Europe region in Q1 2020, marking a rise of 100% over the last 12-month average of 17, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q1 2020 with 131 contracts and a 36.6% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 84 contracts and a 23.5% share and Electricity Procurement with 43 contracts and a 12% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 31 contracts and a 91.2% share
  2. Project Implementation: three contracts and an 8.8% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe smart grid contracts in Q1 2020
