Europe smart grid contracts activity up 120% in Q4 2019

There were 22 smart grid contracts announced in the Europe region in Q4 2019, marking a rise of 120% over the last 12-month average of 10, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q4 2019 with 132 contracts and a 34.3% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 97 contracts and a 25.2% share and T&D Equipment with 53 contracts and a 13.8% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was:Supply & Erection with 22 contracts and a 100% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe smart grid contracts in Q4 2019

Looking at smart grid contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for five contracts with an 83.3% share, followed by nuclear with one contract and a 16.7% share.
