Europe Solar technology contracts activity rises 21% in June 2020
Oil and gas companies are making moves into the UK energy market.

Europe solar technology contracts in June 2020 saw 68 contracts announced, marking a rise of 21% over the last 12-month average of 56, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 59 contracts and an 86.8% share
  2. Supply & Erection: five contracts and a 7.4% share
  3. Power Purchase Agreement: four contracts and a 5.9% share.

France tops Europe solar power contracts activity

France was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology contracts recorded in June 2020 with 57 contracts and an 83.8% share, followed by the Netherlands with three contracts and a 4.4% share and Spain with two contracts and a 2.9% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Ministere de la transition ecologique et solidaire (France): 86.59MW from 54 contracts
  2. Auchan Retail: 60.7MW from one contract
  3. Kurteks Tekstil Enerji: 50MW capacity from one contract.
