Europe T&D equipment contracts activity up 122% in December 2019

There were 20 T&D equipment contracts announced in the Europe region in December 2019, marking a rise of 122% over the last 12-month average of 9, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in December 2019 with 49 contracts and a 35.8% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 25 contracts and an 18.2% share and T&D Equipment with 20 contracts and a 14.6% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 16 contracts and an 80% share
  2. Project Implementation: four contracts and a 20% share.

Thermal is top technology for Europe T&D equipment contracts in December 2019

Looking at T&D equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, thermal accounted for two contracts with a 66.7% share, followed by solar with one contract and a 33.3% share.
