Europe T&D equipment contracts activity up 13% in Q1 2020
Oil and gas companies are making moves into the UK energy market.

There were 34 T&D equipment contracts announced in the Europe region in Q1 2020, marking a rise of 13% over the last 12-month average of 30, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q1 2020 with 131 contracts and a 36.6% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 84 contracts and a 23.5% share and Electricity Procurement with 43 contracts and a 12% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 25 contracts and a 73.5% share
  2. Project Implementation: six contracts and a 17.6% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and an 8.8% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe T&D equipment contracts in Q1 2020

Looking at T&D equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for six contracts with a 40% share, followed by solar with five contracts and a 33.3% share and hydro with two contracts and a 13.3% share.
