Europe T&D equipment contracts activity up 8% in September 2020

There were 27 T&D equipment contracts announced in the Europe region in September 2020, marking a rise of 8% over the last 12-month average of 25, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in September 2020 with 52 contracts and a 38.2% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 27 contracts and a 19.9% share and Power Plant with 24 contracts and a 17.6% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 24 contracts and an 88.9% share
  2. Project Implementation: two contracts and a 7.4% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 3.7% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe T&D equipment contracts in September 2020

Looking at T&D equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for five contracts with an 83.3% share, followed by thermal with one contract and a 16.7% share.
