Europe T&D project contracts activity up 26% in Q1 2020

There were 24 T&D project contracts announced in the Europe region in Q1 2020, marking a rise of 26% over the last 12-month average of 19, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q1 2020 with 131 contracts and a 36.6% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 84 contracts and a 23.5% share and Electricity Procurement with 43 contracts and a 12% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 18 contracts and a 75% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 16.7% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: two contracts and an 8.3% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe T&D project contracts in Q1 2020

Looking at T&D project contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for nine contracts with a 75% share, followed by biopower with one contract and an 8.3% share and hydro with one contract and an 8.3% share.
