Europe T&D project contracts activity up 8% in Q3 2020

There were 28 T&D project contracts announced in the Europe region in Q3 2020, marking a rise of 8% over the last 12-month average of 26, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q3 2020 with 231 contracts and a 40% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 124 contracts and a 21.5% share and T&D Equipment with 101 contracts and a 17.5% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 15 contracts and a 53.6% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: eight contracts and a 28.6% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: five contracts and a 17.9% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe T&D project contracts in Q3 2020

Looking at T&D project contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for 11 contracts with an 84.6% share, followed by solar with two contracts and a 15.4% share.

The top issuers of T&D project contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
