Middle East and Africa power industry contracts activity in December 2020 saw 26 contracts announced, marking a drop of 13% over the last 12-month average of 30, according to GlobalData’s power database.

Looking at contracts by country, Egypt led the activity in December 2020 with five contracts and a share of 19.2%, up 2.5% over the previous month and up 150% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Saudi Arabia with five contracts and a share of 19.2% and Mozambique with four contracts and a share of 15.4% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Saudi Arabia held the top spot with four contracts, followed by Iran with three and Egypt with two contracts.

Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with nine contracts and a 56.3% share, followed by thermal with five contracts and a 31.3% share and hydro with two contracts and a 12.5% share.
