Middle East and Africa T&D project contracts activity up 61% in Q1 2020

There were 29 T&D project contracts announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q1 2020, marking a rise of 61% over the last 12-month average of 18, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q1 2020 with 36 contracts and a 33.3% share, followed by T&D Project with 29 contracts and a 26.9% share and T&D Equipment with 18 contracts and a 16.7% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 18 contracts and a 62.1% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: 11 contracts and a 37.9% share.

Solar is top technology for Middle East and Africa T&D project contracts in Q1 2020
