Middle East and Africa T&D project contracts activity up 50% in Q4 2019

There were 24 T&D project contracts announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2019, marking a rise of 50% over the last 12-month average of 16, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2019 with 38 contracts and a 39.6% share, followed by T&D Project with 24 contracts and a 25% share and Generation Equipment with 13 contracts and a 13.5% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 16 contracts and a 66.7% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: eight contracts and a 33.3% share.

Hydro is top technology for Middle East and Africa T&D project contracts in Q4 2019

Looking at T&D project contracts by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, hydro accounted for one contract with a 100% share.
