Electricity Procurement stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q4 2020 with 74 contracts and a 36.3% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 54 contracts and a 26.5% share and Power Plant with 39 contracts and a 19.1% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Power Purchase Agreement: 64 contracts and an 86.5% share
- Electricity Supply: ten contracts and a 13.5% share.
Solar is top technology for North America electricity procurement contracts in Q4 2020
Looking at electricity procurement contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, solar accounted for 59 contracts with an 80.8% share, followed by wind with nine contracts and a 12.3% share and thermal with two contracts and a 2.7% share.
