North America power plant contracts activity up 15% in Q1 2020

There were 62 power plant contracts announced in the North America region in Q1 2020, marking a rise of 15% over the last 12-month average of 54, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q1 2020 with 62 contracts and a 26.8% share, followed by Electricity Procurement with 46 contracts and a 19.9% share and T&D Equipment with 43 contracts and an 18.6% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 51 contracts and an 82.3% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: eight contracts and a 12.9% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and a 3.2% share
