Power industry contracts activity in Q4 2020 saw 965 contracts announced, marking a drop of 19% over the last four-quarter average of 1,190, according to GlobalData’s power database.

On comparing contracts activity in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 387 contracts and a share of 40.1% during Q4 2020, followed by Asia-Pacific with 261 contracts and a 27% share and North America with 185 contracts and a 19.2% share.
In fourth place was Middle East and Africa with 79 contracts and an 8.2% share and in fifth place was South and Central America with 53 contracts and a 5.5% share.
On the basis of the last four-quarter average, Europe held a lead over others with 493 contracts, followed by Asia-Pacific with 280.

Looking at contracts by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 331 contracts and a 41.4% share, followed by wind with 258 contracts and a 32.3% share and thermal with 96 contracts and a 12% share.
