The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 278 contracts and an 81% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 38 contracts and an 11.1% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 18 contracts and a 5.2% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: nine contracts and a 2.6% share.
Europe leads power plant activity in Q1 2020
Comparing contracts activity in power plant segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 131 contracts and a share of 38.2% during Q1 2020, followed by Asia-Pacific with 91 contracts and a 26.5% share and North America with 62 contracts and an 18.1% share.

Solar is leading technology for power plant contracts in Q1 2020
Among the technologies, solar accounted for 199 contracts with a 57.2% share, followed by wind with 65 contracts and an 18.7% share and thermal with 38 contracts and a 10.9% share.

The top issuers of power plant contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved were:
- Emirates Water and Electricity (United Arab Emirates): 4,800MW from two contracts
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 2,400MW from six contracts
