South and Central America solar technology contracts in Q1 2020 saw 24 contracts announced, marking a rise of 9% over the last four-quarter average of 22, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with ten contracts and a 41.7% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: seven contracts and a 29.2% share

Chile tops South and Central America solar power contracts activity

Chile was the top country in the South and Central America region for solar technology contracts recorded in Q1 2020 with nine contracts and a 37.5% share, followed by Brazil with six contracts and a 25% share and Honduras with four contracts and a 16.7% share.
