T&D equipment contracts up 15% in August 2020

T&D equipment contracts in August 2020 saw 45 contracts announced, marking a rise of 15% over the last 12-month average of 39, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 37 contracts and an 82.2% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and an 11.1% share
  3. Project Implementation: three contracts and a 6.7% share.

Europe leads T&D equipment activity in August 2020

Comparing contracts activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 31 contracts and a share of 68.9% during August 2020, followed by Asia-Pacific with six contracts and a 13.3% share and Middle East and Africa with four contracts and an 8.9% share.

Wind is leading technology for T&D equipment contracts in August 2020

Among the technologies, wind accounted for five contracts with a 55.6% share, followed by hydro with two contracts and a 22.2% share and solar with two contracts and a 22.2% share.
