T&D equipment contracts up 73% in December 2019

T&D equipment contracts in December 2019 saw 26 contracts announced, marking a rise of 73% over the last 12-month average of 15, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 20 contracts and a 76.9% share
  2. Project Implementation: five contracts and a 19.2% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 3.8% share.

Europe leads T&D equipment activity in December 2019

Comparing contracts activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 20 contracts and a share of 76.9% during December 2019, followed by Asia-Pacific with three contracts and an 11.5% share and North America with two contracts and a 7.7% share.

Thermal is leading technology for T&D equipment contracts in December 2019

Among the technologies, thermal accounted for two contracts with a 40% share, followed by wind with two contracts and a 40% share and solar with one contract and a 20% share.
