T&D equipment contracts down 42% in October 2020

T&D equipment contracts in October 2020 saw 26 contracts announced, marking a drop of 42% over the last 12-month average of 45, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 22 contracts and an 84.6% share
2. Project Implementation: four contracts and a 15.4% share.

Europe leads T&D equipment activity in October 2020

Comparing contracts activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 14 contracts and a share of 53.8% during October 2020, followed by North America with four contracts and a 15.4% share and Asia-Pacific with four contracts and a 15.4% share.

Solar is leading technology for T&D equipment contracts in October 2020

Among the technologies, solar accounted for two contracts with a 33.3% share, followed by wind with two contracts and a 33.3% share and hydro with one contract and a 16.7% share.
