T&D project contracts in January 2020 saw 23 contracts announced, marking a rise of 10% over the last 12-month average of 21, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 16 contracts and a 69.6% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: six contracts and a 26.1% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 4.3% share.

Europe leads T&D project activity in January 2020

Comparing contracts activity in T&D project segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with ten contracts and a share of 43.5% during January 2020, followed by Middle East and Africa with seven contracts and a 30.4% share and South and Central America with three contracts and a 13% share.

Wind is leading technology for T&D project contracts in January 2020

Among the technologies, wind accounted for six contracts with a 66.7% share, followed by solar with two contracts and a 22.2% share and biopower with one contract and an 11.1% share.
