T&D project contracts down 4% in July 2020
Oil and gas companies are making moves into the UK energy market.

T&D project contracts in July 2020 saw 26 contracts announced, marking a drop of 4% over the last 12-month average of 27, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 15 contracts and a 57.7% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: eight contracts and a 30.8% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and an 11.5% share.

Europe leads T&D project activity in July 2020

Comparing contracts activity in T&D project segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 12 contracts and a share of 46.2% during July 2020, followed by Middle East and Africa with nine contracts and a 34.6% share and Asia-Pacific with three contracts and an 11.5% share.

Wind is leading technology for T&D project contracts in July 2020

Among the technologies, wind accounted for nine contracts with an 81.8% share, followed by hydro with one contract and a 9.1% share and solar with one contract and a 9.1% share.

The top issuer of T&D project contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved was:Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners KS (Denmark) with 114MW from one contract.
