T&D project contracts up 23% in June 2021

T&D project contracts in June 2021 saw 43 contracts announced, marking a rise of 23% over the last 12-month average of 35, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 28 contracts and a 65.1% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: ten contracts and a 23.3% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and an 11.6% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D project activity in June 2021

Comparing contracts activity in T&D project segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 15 contracts and a share of 34.9% during June 2021, followed by Middle East and Africa with 12 contracts and a 27.9% share and Europe with 11 contracts and a 25.6% share.

Solar is leading technology for T&D project contracts in June 2021

Among the technologies, solar accounted for seven contracts with a 50% share, followed by wind with four contracts and a 28.6% share and thermal with two contracts and a 14.3% share.

T&D project contracts in June 2021: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of T&D project contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan): 457MW from one contract
  2. Atlas Renewable Energy USA (United States): 359MW from one contract
  3. China Green Development Group: 150MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Abu Dhabi Future Energy (United Arab Emirates): 457MW from one contract
  2. Elecnor (Spain): 359MW from one contract
  3. SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction (China): 150MW capacity from one contract.
