T&D project contracts in Q2 2019 saw 58 contracts announced, marking a drop of 26% over the last four-quarter average of 78, according to GlobalData's power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 37 contracts and a 63.8% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 11 contracts and a 19% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: nine contracts and a 15.5% share
  4. Supply & Erection: one contract and a 1.7% share.

Europe leads T&D project activity in Q2 2019

Comparing contracts activity in T&D project segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 17 contracts and a share of 29.3% during Q2 2019, followed by Middle East and Africa with 17 contracts and a 29.3% share and Asia-Pacific with 14 contracts and a 24.1% share.

Wind is leading technology for T&D project contracts in Q2 2019
