Australia power industry IT recruitment activity rises 25.7% in July 2021

Australia power industry registered a 25.7% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 25.49% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 14.35% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 2.69% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia power industry in July 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60% in July 2021, a 14.29% drop over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed an 18% share, an increase of 125% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10%, registering a 28.57% decline from June 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 4%, down 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in Australia IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 11.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia power industry during July 2021 over June 2021.

CLP Holdings posted 9 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a drop of 18.18% over the previous month, followed by Siemens with 7 jobs and a 40% growth. Clearway Energy with 6 IT jobs and AGL Energy with 5 jobs, recorded a 50% growth and a 28.57% decline, respectively, while Essential Energy recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66%, flat growth from June 2021. Entry Level positions with a 24% share, a growth of 300% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 8% share, down 71.43% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
