Canada power industry registered an 8.1% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 0.95% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.46% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 1.62% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada power industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada power industry in June 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 54.84% in June 2021, a 3.03% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 19.35% share, decline of 7.69% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 14.52%, registering an 18.18% decline from May 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 6.45%, up 100% over the previous month.
Top five power companies in Canada IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 33.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada power industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
Siemens posted 11 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 37.5% over the previous month, followed by Emera with 10 jobs and a 150% growth. Just Energy Group with 9 IT jobs and Atco with 6 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 33.33% decline, respectively, while Luz Del Sur SAA recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.13%, down by 12.77% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.58% share, a growth of 16.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.68% share, flat growth over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.61%, recording a month-on-month an flat growth.
