Europe witnessed a 14.2% rise in IT hiring activity in the power industry in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
June 2021 has seen an increase of 13.39% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for an 8.75% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 61.68% in June 2021, a 43.09% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 10.28% in June 2021, marking a 35.38% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.81% in June 2021, an 11.58% drop from May 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 9.23% in June 2021, a 41.07% rise over the previous month.
Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 76.58% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Luz Del Sur SAA posted 335 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 135.92% over the previous month, followed by Siemens with 125 jobs and a 50.6% growth. Vestas Wind Systems with 53 IT jobs and Umicore with 44 jobs, recorded an 8.16% growth and a 91.3% increase, respectively, while Schneider Electric recorded a 13.89% decline with 31 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry
Italy commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 26.17% share in June 2021, an 80.65% rise over May 2021. Germany featured next with a 10.75% share, up 48.39% over the previous month. the UK recorded a 10.28% share, a drop of 25.42% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.04%, up by 34.14% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with an 11.92% share, a growth of 18.6% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.93% share, up 54.55% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.12%, recording a month-on-month decline of 85.71%.
