This white paper discusses the foundation pressure injection repair, realignment and regrouting of the Thomassen compressor C.20-4 type.
The unit is driven by a SMIT electric motor rated 950Kw at 421rpm. The foundation was constructed and compressor installed in the early seventies (1971).
The Bayern Oil technical and mechanical team prepared the compressor, installing dust and heat protective sheets, dismantling the motor ( for revision) and removing all piping and wiring around the compressor that impeded access, or which might be subject to damage during the repair works.
The first activity was diamond core drilling and air-powered percussion, which saw the drilling of 16 holes in the foundation.
